2011 medium Garden of Versailles Double Flap shoulder bag
When Karl Lagerfeld took the creative helm of CHANEL in 1983, he set out to honour the eponymous founder’s pioneering 2.55 bag with his own re-interpretation: the Double Flap. The progeny design resulted in two equally iconic updates – a leather-woven chain strap and interlocking CC fastening. To separate and protect the main compartment, an additional namesake flap sits below the larger exterior one in this white and black Garden of Versailles iteration, which is highlighted with a beaded pattern depicting the French Palace's mazes.
